Family vacations

The staff is really friendly, always trying to help. For the category booked, there was everyday a complementary 1,5L bottle of water, with complementary drinks in the mini bar with access to the Preferred Club. The breakfast is good, plenty of options. The location is very near to Magaluf's beach, and the bus station is close to visit Palma (45 mins ride) or Palmanova (7mins ride).

The room cleaning was ok, but not for the standards of a 4 star resort. The room was just next to the stage where the night shows took place (from 9PM to 10:30PM). If you plan to rest early, you better ask for a room on the opposite side of the building. The food in the buffet is commercial, and the à la carte restaurant is not much better.

Good value for the price!

The staff were great. The hotel was very clean. We do not usually do all-inclusive, as we do not prefer buffet dining, but it was well presented with something for everything. Overall, I give the dining a 9!

Would have preferred it to be on the beach, not across the street from the beach. None of the Dreams 3 pools were heated. I took a taxi 15 minutes to the other Hyatt Hotel "Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa" for a facial and massage, and their pools were heated but the hotel was 3 times the price! So I guess you get what you pay for...

Excellent value for money.

Good location. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Good facilities.

Entertainment on the whole was poor. A couple of groups we watched were very good but were told to keep the noise down after a little while which seemed a little odd and dissapointing. We were all inclusive and although the food was plentiful, some of the dishes were a little bland and the selection of fish was a little dissapointing.

Wonderful

Great Hotel and super helpful staff in Restaurant especially Jesus, the restaurant manager who was super helpful and efficient, and Reception Staff all spoke excellent English and followed up on any queries. The stand out for us was the Food- Exceptional! And fantastic choice. We were half board and our only regret was that we didn't go all inclusive. There was healthy options and comfort food if you wanted it. Great choice of starters, dinners and desserts and loads of variety each evening, which changed every day, no getting bored with same dish every day. Our fridge in our room was a godsend, but initially it wasn't working or chilling our drinks- I informed reception and that evening when we went to room a replacement fridge was in place that worked perfectly. We loved the choice of 4 pools and always got a sunbed and parasol each day. Also I workout regularly and found the gym small but we'll equipped, so it got crowded easily, but only at peak times. I was able to do full workouts in comfort if I timed it right in the day. We loved our stay here and would love to book again for next year.

Only little niggles, but Shower door isn't sealed at back, so if you're not careful or aware of it you end up with pool on bathroom floor, like we did first night. Also the waiting staff in the restaurant are too efficient at clearing away tables and on more than 1 occasion we came back from buffet counter to find our plates we were still using and drinks cleared- the staff rectified this quickly but a bit more awareness before clearing is needed.

Def recommend this place, has everything you need for the perfect holiday!

This place is amazing! It has everything you need and easily accessible. The food was top class and each night there was something different. We upgraded to the 'Club' rate and it meant you had access to an adults only pool with snacks and drinks available. The staff are amazing and on hand to take drink orders. The place is very clean. Entertainment each night was varied and fun. 100m from a sandy beach with crystal clear water. What more could you want?

I did request 2 single beds but this was not available. That was the only thing.

What was the highlight of Dreams Calvia Mallorca

An enjoyable stay at a property with many strengths but a few key failures.

The breakfast, bed, and shower were all excellent (we booked B&B only so I can't comment on the other meals). My wife and I's room was on the small side especially for storage (small wardrobe only). My two grown up sons ended up with a slightly larger room (although both were advertised at the same size 22m2). Cleanliness and room maintenance were very good. The location was close to the south end of Magaluf beach and convenient to the shorefront restaurants. The hotel entertainment was of a good standard. For a town with a reputation for partying we were not disturbed on any of the nights we stayed.

There were two lifts to our part of the building. One of these was frequently inoperative. There was limited parking provided at the hotel at a cost of 22 euro/day. We used free roadside parking nearby. The pools were shallow and on the small side and invariably full (we mostly swam in the sea). The check-in process was inordinately long and I felt excessive (e.g. email addresses were demanded for every guest). My biggest problem related to an upgrade we were offered just before attending the hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a 48m2 room and invited to tender for it, something I thought a little unorthodox. I was emailed to say that my tender was successful (at an additional 910 euro for one room payable at check-in). Upon check-in I duly paid the additional fee only to find that I was given the same room I had booked (a 22m2 room) with none of the offered additional features except for access to a couple of preferred client areas. I had to demand a refund immediately which to be fair was paid within 20 minutes but only after the slightly incredulous check-in attendant came up to inspect the room himself. It left a slightly bitter taste.

Wonderful

Food, location and staff were great, very helpful staff, great choices on food, plus had extra restaurants for preferred club guests as well as extra pools and gated accomodation. Everything was always immaculately clean, and the linch at the oceana restaurant was exceptionally well cooked. Club lounge and bars were very handy. Junior suites were a very good size.

All 4 pillow cases had a very strong musty smell, in both of out junior suite rooms. Would have expected better, had to ask twice for them to be changed. The 2 pool tables were constantly in use by younger kids, as was the single ping pong table. Small gripes to be fair.

Staff at the bar were very rude, customer service at the pool bar very poor, food choices very low at the lunch and dinner, no sea food ( prawns, mussels ) , we were expecting more choices as for 4 star hotel ,compare to other Spanish hotels

The hotel have a preferred system, meaning that the hotel was not available for all. This was not known / show when booked. This added a lot of pressure on the pools, bars and restaurants and the hotel felt crowded, pools was total full and lines for a drink. If the hotel was cheap I could understand the setup, but it’s not and for a family of 8 you don’t add 20Euros per day per pax! Rooms where nice but clearly have seen the best area.

Great sea-view, make sure you choose preferred-club, it is worth it!

Visited this hotel for the second time, as last year it was the most amazing place on earth, but not so much this year. Direct sea-view was just amazing and so much worth the price. Breakfast did not let us down once again, big thumbs up. Relaxing environment for the preferred club member pool areas. Extra amenities such as beach towels and a bag were really good. A small sweet delight after the check in was a nice add to the stay. Live performances were also entertaining.

Dinner buffet is not more than OK. You will find something to fill your stomach with, but it will not necessarily be tasty. Breakfast and dinner is served in a separate building, very closed in and it feels like a crowded canteen. My expectation was the great sunny sea-view close to pool area like last year, but now it is only lunch that is being served there. Only preferred club members have access to more pools and it was not clear upon booking. Luckily, I had changed my reservation from all-inclusive to preferred club before arriving, that saved our stay because the one common pool was crowded with the many young people, not relaxing a atmosphere. Although the rules are No drinks in the swimming pool, it was poorly followed, and the guards did not do anything about it. Service has become poorer since my last visit. (Except one concierge, who was smiling and welcoming just as much all the time). As member of the preferred club, one can enjoy a lounge area with snacks and beverages, coffee/tea. When I went to ask the lady if the coffee machine was not working, she told me it had to be cleaned, but we should "go to the bar, they serve much better coffee over there". I asked if we could get a coffee there, and the answer was no when we said we "only" had preferred club, not all-inclusive... The perks as preferred club are certainly there, but I would expect the staff would treat their guests with a cup of that better coffee in such situation.

Very good choice in overall

Great location (about 3 minutes to the beach) and beautiful view from the room, many restaurants with various offer and tasty food, very nice and friendly staff. Nice pools with many sunbeds next to it and bali beds, which was big advantage. The thing we also liked were daily evening shows (mostly live music). Preferred club's pool wasn't crowded at all, so it was great place to rest. Also minibar content was included in preferred club offer.

Entrance door to the room wasn't seal properly, so it let the light through and was very noisy if someone was talking or just passing in the corridor, which was frustrating at night. Shower was leaky, so after shower there was always flood on the floor, which was wooden panels btw and water went under the floor.
